Brian’s passion for Land Rovers began early, driven by his family’s interest in Land Rovers and Range Rovers. He completed a three-year apprenticeship at Guy Salmon in Leeds (now Vertu), where he qualified as an NVQ Level 3 technician and was named Land Rover’s National Apprentice of the Year in 2001.

With ambitions of owning his own garage, Brian shifted direction, gaining valuable service advisor experience at Farnell Land Rover in Guiseley before returning to the workshop at Four Plus 4 in Leeds. After four enjoyable years, the opportunity to start Green Oval Garage came along in 2005, and the rest is history…

Outside of work, Brian loves a bit of DIY, cycling, and if he gets chance, watch Liverpool play. Now a proud granddad, he loves spending time with the grandkids too.

Martin joined Green Oval in 2009, bringing a wealth of parts knowledge and the knack for sourcing even the most obscure items to meet customer needs. He became a Director alongside Brian in 2015, helping to drive the company’s growth. When Green Oval expanded in 2018 to open the Wetherby branch, Martin stepped into the role of MD and is your go-to person for parts queries or booking your vehicle in with experienced technicians.

Over the years, Martin has owned several of Solihull’s finest, including a Freelander, Discovery, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover. His current ride is a Discovery 5 3.0 diesel.

In his spare time, Martin loves to spend time with his family and watching football, especially Liverpool. With his first grandchild born in 2022, he’s busier than ever!

Dale joins us as a Level 3 Technician, bringing valuable experience from his time at Sterling Motors, where he worked on a wide range of prestige vehicles.
Outside of work, Dale keeps busy with DIY projects, cheering on the Rhinos, and supporting his teenage sons at their Rugby League matches. He also enjoys building Lego creations with his four-year-old and, when time allows, squeezing in the occasional round of golf. 
A loyal Arsenal fan (we won’t hold that against him!), Dale has already settled in brilliantly.

We’re delighted to announce that another JLR-accredited technician will soon be joining the team at our Wetherby branch. Phil began his career in smaller independent garages before moving to a local JLR dealership, where he gained extensive knowledge of the latest JLR models and Topix Cloud diagnostics. He’ll play a key role as the link between the workshop and reception, supporting Liam and Martin with technical expertise and helping customers better understand their vehicle repairs.

Outside of work, Phil is kept busy with his young family and helping out on his friend’s farm. You’ll usually find him behind the wheel of a Discovery 5—or a tractor!

We were delighted to welcome Derek to the team in 2016. Many of you may recognise him from another well-known Leeds specialist! He previously worked with Brian and Martin at the local Land Rover dealership. Now the first point of contact at our Leeds branch, Derek’s your go-to for bookings, advice, and those elusive part numbers. Known as our one-man parts machine, he keeps everything running smoothly.

Outside of work, Derek’s sports mad, enjoys caravan trips with his family, and plays walking football for a local team in Morley.

We’re pleased to welcome Liam to the Green Oval family. He’ll be working alongside his father-in-law, Martin, at our Wetherby branch as he settles into his new role.

Outside of work, Liam is a dedicated Leeds United fan and keeps busy looking after his young daughter.

Sam joined our Wetherby team in 2020, but like many, his journey was disrupted by COVID-19. Despite the stop-start challenges to his employment and education, his determination and positive attitude have paid off — he’s recently achieved his NVQ Level 3 qualification at York College. Congratulations, Sam!

He’s now an essential part of the Wetherby team, working closely with Michael and Phil to continue developing his skills.

Rob joined the Green Oval family over seven years ago, bringing valuable experience from the commercial vehicle sector. He works closely with Leigh, George, and Ashley on all things Land Rover. Rob quickly developed a passion for Land Rovers, starting his own collection, including a Discovery 3, Evoque, and now a 2015 Range Rover Sport.

Rob has qualified as an MOT tester with us. We’re committed to providing training opportunities to our team, helping us become a better place to work and a better company to do business with.

In his spare time, Rob enjoys cycling and assisting a team at the RAC rally.

Chris joined our Leeds service department after his role as a service advisor at Rybrook Land Rover Huddersfield was impacted by COVID-19 redundancies. We’re lucky to have him on board, and we’re sure you’ll welcome him the next time you need to call in.

In his spare time, Chris and his wife, Charlie, are kept very busy with their twin boys, who were born in January 2022

Max has joined us straight from high school and will be working alongside George, Leigh, Ashley and, Rob, assisting with various day-to-day tasks. He’s also responsible for washing vehicles in for service and repair. A huge Liverpool fan, Max enjoys watching as much football as possible.

Leigh joined us seeking a new challenge, bringing valuable experience from working with Ford, Mercedes, Renault, and Peugeot. A passionate rugby and football fan, Leigh played professionally for Halifax RLFC. He’s settled in so well; it’s hard to believe how quickly it’s gone!

In his spare time, Leigh coaches his son’s football and daughter's rugby teams and enjoys watching any sport whenever he can. He’s also qualified as a MOT tester with us. We believe in providing training opportunities whenever possible to help our team grow and improve.

He’s back! We’re pleased to welcome Ash back into the fold after a brief stint at a local engineering firm. When Ash mentioned he wasn’t feeling challenged in his changed role, Brian’s response was, “Don’t worry, Ash, I’ve got some challenges for you!” He’s slotted back in seamlessly, and it’s like he’s never been away.

Now a dad, Ash has put his rallying days on pause for a while, but links to project cars have already been shared. Great to have you back, mate,

We’re pleased to welcome Billy to the Leeds team. He began his career as Leigh’s apprentice, specialising in light commercials, including Mercedes and VW. Billy’s already getting stuck into timing belts and turbo jobs.

In his downtime, Billy enjoys a run completing in the Leeds marathon this year. Good luck, mate. Rather you than us!

Kai joined our Wetherby branch in 2022, working part-time alongside his dad, Martin, while studying Triple Business in college. He’s since taken on a more prominent role, focusing on stock management and business administration.

During busy periods, Kai also helps with bookings and reception duties. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Will joined us straight from school to begin a four-year apprenticeship through York College. He’s settled in well and is currently working under George and Ashley as he grows into his role. Another huge Liverpool fan, Will enjoys playing football on weekends. Good luck, Will!

Michael joined our Wetherby team in 2023 and has quickly become a crucial member. No big job phases this man, and he takes it all in his stride. In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family and watching Leeds Rhinos.
